Inspired by the dragonfly, Etherwing draws from ancient Japanese symbolism where the dragonfly, known as Tombo, was revered as a symbol of courage, resilience and victory.
Swift and unwavering in flight, the dragonfly never retreats, becoming an emblem of forward movement and inner strength. During Japan’s feudal era, samurai adorned their armour and weapons with dragonfly motifs, believing its steady flight reflected their own determination. The dragonfly was also called Kachimushi, meaning the insect of victory.
Beyond strength, the dragonfly is a symbol of transformation. Beginning life in water before rising into the air, it reflects the beauty of change and the courage to step into new chapters.
